Protection

While waiting for one of those long peeling lefts at Kea’au a mother and her calf started breaching in front of me, perhaps only about a hundred yards outside of the lineup, an indescribable thrill.

From the vantage point of my board, sitting way outside, I contemplated my surroundings and realized the ocean needed the same protection that this mother was giving to her calf.
