Not sure what I can say about Kaniela that hasn’t already been said — I’ve been watching him surf since he was a teenager, and it’s been amazing to see him grow into one of the top longboarders in the world. He’s smooth and quick like a cat, but still throws down the most insane, radical moves with ease.
I made this piece to celebrate him and his style. It’ll be on display at El Salvador’s booth at the US Open in Huntington Beach — which feels right, since he was the first longboarder to win a WSL event there.
