I believe this is the first painting I did in 2019, at my studio in Uruguay, a year when things seemed to go according to plan and everything seemed to just flow.
A few months prior to making this piece my wife and I were diving at Electric Beach on the West Side of the island, when we saw a Spotted Eagle Ray, it is truly an amazing experience to watch them just flow, it is so magical that you almost forget that you are holding your breath.
Right before I painted this, I had just landed in Uruguay, had a super busy schedule shooting a commercial on the next day of my arrival and as I was falling asleep after the first day of shooting I kept thinking about our magical experience, which ended up in this piece a few days later.
