Waikiki Ripper

I’ve been looking to do a painting of Johnny “The Ripper”, he is one of those young longboarders in Waikiki that you have to look at, because before you know it, he might end up being one of the best in the world, when I first saw him about six years ago he was the typical Waikiki rascal, skateboarding and surfing all day long and all those hours of surfing have payed off since he is one of the most stylish young surfers in the line up.

But even though I’ve been observing him for a while, I never got around to paint him until now, perhaps it was just the right time, since the original piece is being exhibited at a benefit show in Encinitas, California and percentage of the sales of this edition will go to Stand Up For The Cure, a surfing organization helping women with cancer.
