Malolos

The magnificent Malolos – the Hawaiian name for flying fish.
When I worked as a Waikiki Beach boy in the eighties, crewing on the Mana Kai catamaran with the legendary Woody Brown, we used to see these fish flying in front of the boat as if they were daring us to race them. I still see a bit of myself with them, going from one place to another and trying to fly higher and higher.
