Malolo surfboard

Malolos
I’ve been painting the magnificent Malolos since 2016, the Hawaiian name for flying fish and somehow these guys keep flying out the door!
I’ve been fascinated by them ever since I used to crew on the Mana Kai with the legendary Woody Brown.
Almost every morning, as we sailed the catamaran to Waikiki, these fishes used to show up and fly out of the water as if they were daring Woody to go faster.
Fishes that want to fly, never standing still, something I can relate, going from place to place trying to go higher each time.

This board is on display and can be seen at the Four Seasons O’ahu, in Ko Olina.

Although the surfboard shape is meant to be functional, it’s not meant to be surfed on, but to be displayed as an art piece.
